Enzo Perez is desperate to beat Atletico Madrid on Sunday and step up Valencia’s top-four hopes.
Both Valencia and last season’s La Liga champions Atletico Madrid are chasing a place in next term’s Champions League and the clash at the Vicente Calderon looks set to be a tight affair.
Atletico are currently third, just a point better off than Los Che, who have won their last four matches.
Valencia are 6.00 to win Sunday’s game, while Atletico are available at 1.61 to come out on top.
We have a tough game, against a great team who are playing in the Champions League and are high up in La Liga.
“We have a clear goal collectively, and everyone knows what it is,” said Argentina international and former Benfica star Perez. “We will be looking for the win; it’s our mentality and what we have been doing all season.
“We have a tough game, against a great team who are playing in the Champions League and are high up in La Liga and we know that they are the reigning champions and are higher up the table than us.
“We must be smart and do what we have been doing, which is working hard for 90 minutes. This team never relax and we keep a cool head, and that’s important in these games.”
