Diego Simeone has brought an end to speculation about his future by signing a new contract with Atletico Madrid.
The 44-year-old Argentine joined the club from Racing Santander in December 2011 and had been under contract at the Vicente Calderon until the summer of 2017.
He has now penned a deal that will see him remaining at the reigning Spanish champions until 2020.
I am here because I’m convinced the club will continue to grow.

Since Simeone succeeded Gregorio Manzano just over three years ago, he has guided the side to Europa League glory in his first season in charge, followed by the European Supercup and Copa del Rey in 2012/13.
Last season Atletico defied the odds to win the La Liga title and reach the Champions League final, where they were beaten after extra-time by Real Madrid.
Atletico, who won the Spanish Supercup earlier this term, are currently fourth in the La Liga table and face Real in the Champions League quarter-finals next month.
“I am here because I’m convinced the club will continue to grow,” said Simeone.
“Nobody embodies the values of our club more than Simeone,” confirmed club president Enrique Cerezo.
Atletico are 1.44 to beat Cordoba in their next match on 4th April and can be backed at 17.00 to win the Champions League outright this season.
