Ligue 1: PSG will be made to suffer in Saturday aftenoon showdown

PSG v Lille (2nd v 8th)
Sat, 16:00 BST

There is always a risk opposing a comfortable PSG victory but right now Lille are one of the few sides in Ligue 1 that can make life awkward for the champions.

After some difficult autumn and winter months Lille have found their rhythm and are in their best form of the season. They have won six of their past seven matches, look comfortable in their 4-3-1-2 formation and have players excelling at both ends of the field (goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama, playmaker Sofiane Boufal).

It would be stretching things to say Lille can go to Parc des Princes and win, and even a point may be beyond them. But Lille certainly have the form and experience to frustrate the champions, especially as Enyeama has produced so many top-class performances in big matches in the past couple of seasons.

With our selection you’ll make a profit as long as Lille avoid defeat by a couple of goals. For more on how Asian handicap betting works, click here.

Caen v Guingamp (13th v 12th) and Toulouse v Nantes (15th v 10th)
Sat, 19:00 BST

Caen and Guingamp may be prepared to settle for a point when they meet at Stade Michel d’Ornano on Saturday night so a cagey game is on the cards.

Caen are 3pts above the relegation zone and Guingamp 5pts above the relegation zone going into the weekend so a draw would keep the two teams above the bottom three. Guingamp were happy to settle for a point at home to relegation rivals Evian (1-1) last weekend. A repeat performance would be no surprise. Caen have lost four of their last six matches so will lack the confidence to produce the inspired attacking football we saw earlier this year. That should also contribute to a tense, tight, low-scoring match.

To make this an Under 2.5 Goals double, add the Toulouse v Nantes fixture. Nantes are the division’s lowest scorers and ten of their 14 games in 2015 have had under 2.5 goals. They will try to make this a low-scoring encounter and should succeed against limited hosts.

Lens v Monaco (20th v 3rd)
Sun, 16:00 BST

Lens could be relegated this weekend and already seem resigned to their fate.

Last weekend they faced Metz, the team directly above them at the foot of the table, and produced a lacklustre display, losing 3-1. After the game normally combative coach Antoine Kombouare effectively threw in the towel and the players are speaking as though they no longer believe they can escape the drop.

Visitors Monaco will be disappointed at their Champions League quarter-final loss to Juventus but have everything to play for in the league. Third in the table, they are desperate to qualify for next season’s Champions League and are only 2pts ahead of nearest challengers Marseille and St Etienne so cannot afford to ease off.

As long as the Juventus game didn’t take too much out of the players, Monaco should win. If the [1.72] on a Monaco victory is too short back the visitors on the Asian handicap.
