The Daily Acca: Portland to enhance their Play-off chances

Orange and Blue to paint the town red

Bet 1: Back Over 3.5 Goals in Cincinnati v Atlanta United @ 21/20 – KO 00:30 BST (Thurs)

The hosts pulled off a shock win at Montreal Impact at the weekend, but there hopes of making the Play-offs are long gone.

Conceding too many goals has been their major downfall. As with 72 against, they have conceded 14 more goals than the next worst defence, and it’s an average of 2.4 goals per game.

The visitors are third in the Eastern Conference, but come into the fixture having lost their last two outings. They will still make the Play-offs, but they now definitely won’t finish top.

Both of their defeats were 3-1 losses, and four of their last seven on the road have seen this selection land.

Points to stay in Oregon

Bet 2: Back Portland Timbers @ 19/20 – KO 03:30 BST (Thurs)

The Timbers are fighting for their place in the Play-offs and while they were beaten by DC United at the weekend, they are still clinging on to the top seven, and they also have a game in hand over their rivals.

It’s hard to see Giovanni Savarese’s men slipping up again at Providence Park in such a crucial game, especially when the visitors are the New York Red Bulls.

Chris Armas‘ side have lost their last three matches, and it’s three defeats from their last four away from the Red Bull Arena.

Dallas to fall to another away defeat

Bet 3: Back Seattle Sounders @ 17/20 – KO 03:30 BST (Thurs)

We finish in Seattle for what should be a home win for the Sounders.

The selection lie second in the Western Conference, but have no chance of catching runaway leaders, Los Angeles. Their record at home has been excellent – 10 wins, three draws and just two defeats.

Dallas are in eighth place, level on points with the team in seventh. It’s incredibly tight from third to eighth, so even if they lose tonight, they are far from out of it.

Luchi Gonzalez’s side have won just one of their last 11 away from home, and that came back in July. On their last road trip, they were beaten 4-0 in Chicago.
